Acquaints the student with the basics of reading Ancient Greek. This includes the alphabet, grammar, and lexical information. The emphasis in this class is on reading of ancient Greek, particularly Koine (common) Greek spoken during the time of Christ. This class will look at some writings of both the Greek Old and New Testament, but will utilize to a great extent the writings of the Ancient Greeks. This will help the student become familiar with the mindset and thinking of the Hellenistic world in which Christ lived. The class includes audio lectures. Elementary Greek II is the second part of first year Greek, which consists of GRK 104, GRK 114, and GRK 124, and is required for the Bachelor of Ministry degree.
